Cicatrix: noun;
1. New tissue that forms over a wound.
2. Botany.  A scar left by a fallen leaf, seed, etc.
 
Origin: Cicatrix  is derived from the Latin word cicatrix  meaning "scar." The Latin word has no clear origin.
