Resolved: A just society ought not to use the death penalty as a form of punishment.
Claim: The death penalty is a just form of punishment for certain offenders.
In a justice systemt that has many repeat offenders, the death penalty is great form of punishment. I believe that it is impossible for some criminals to truly change and that the death penalty is a good ultimate solution, long-term. Jail time is not an adequate punishment for a serial killer, who having killed many people would get to live in the same world/ place as people who are not murderers. The death penalty needs to be enforced by the government because merely serving jail time for unspeakable crimes is not enough.
